Connect (revision number two)

**This is my second revision of this poem.

Another day, another period of solitude.
My ears full of noise from the busy crowd.
My thoughts left to wander, filling my head
with hopes of one day belonging somewhere.
Soon to my surprise, the image of a shadow
appeared beside me, little did i know
who this beautiful gift belonged to.
I glance up to find an extended hand,
and put mine out in return.
Our two hands connecting,
our two souls coming together.
All the pieces I had once searched for
were now given to me,
a simple box tied with pretty ribbon.
What were once two separate shadows,
have now become one.

  1. I like this poem, and have come up with my own interpretation. I'm unsure of exactly what you meant by it, but I feel as though the little box represents marriage and the joining of two people. I really like the idea of two shadows becoming one. The one thing I don't understand, though,is the first two lines. I feel as though they are contradicting. The first line refers to "another period of solitude" but then the next line talks about "ears full of noise from the busy crowd." I got a little confused at the beginning - maybe you could omit that part or tweak it for clarity

  2. Very cute little poem. Im guessing you have gotten engaged and describing yourself and your loved one becoming one, becoming a team. Love it!!
